Saily has the stronger all-round feature set, especially if you want more clearly defined travel-specific options and extra tools beyond basic mobile data.
Revolut’s main advantage is convenience. If you already use the app, it can be a very straightforward choice.
The biggest differences become clearer when you compare plan structure, pricing and data options in more detail.
Plans, pricing and data options
Saily and Revolut both offer country-specific, regional and global travel data plans, but Saily generally gives travellers more choice in how those plans are structured.
Saily offers both fixed-data and unlimited options across many destinations. Its fixed plans are usually valid for 7 or 30 days, while unlimited plans can offer much more flexibility. In Japan, for example, travellers can choose an unlimited plan lasting anywhere from 1 to 30 days, while Spain and France offer several durations between 5 and 30 days.
Revolut also offers local, regional and global plans. In our account, fixed-data options were available with 7-, 30- and 60-day validity periods. Revolut also documents unlimited travel plans in some account markets, although those options were not available to us. Where offered, Revolut provides 3 GB of full-speed data per day before reducing speeds to 1 Mbps for the rest of the daily period.
How do prices compare?
For smaller fixed-data plans, both providers are similarly priced. In Spain and Japan, Saily charged €3.49 for 1 GB valid for 7 days, compared with €3.99 through Revolut.
The difference also remained relatively small when we compared larger plans:
| Destination | Revolut | Saily |
| Spain — 20 GB / 30 days | €17.49 | €20.49 |
| Japan — 20 GB / 30 days | €22.49 | €21.99 |
Prices were checked in October 2026 using the Revolut account and Saily pricing available to us. Prices and plan availability can vary by market, destination and date.
In these examples, Revolut was cheaper in Spain, while Saily was slightly cheaper in Japan. That makes it difficult to call either provider consistently cheaper based on price alone.
Saily has a clearer advantage if you specifically want unlimited data. Its regular unlimited plans typically include either 3 GB or 5 GB of full-speed data per day, depending on the destination, before speeds are reduced. Revolut can also offer unlimited travel plans, but availability depends on the customer’s account market, making the exact choice of plans less predictable without checking the app.
Overall, Revolut offers strong fixed-data pricing and longer validity options, while Saily provides a broader and more clearly presented mix of fixed and unlimited plans.
Features and everyday use
The main difference is that Saily is a dedicated travel eSIM service, while Revolut integrates travel data into an app many customers already use for banking and payments.
That makes Revolut particularly convenient for existing users. You can buy and manage your travel data without creating another account, and auto-renew can repurchase the same plan if you run out of data.
Saily offers more travel-specific features. Its app includes ad blocking, web protection and virtual location, while hotspot sharing is clearly supported. Standard plans are data-only, but a separate U.S. phone number add-on is available for calls and SMS.
Revolut’s travel eSIM is also data-only, but hotspot support is not clearly documented. Its plans are also tied to the device on which they were purchased.
Overall, Revolut is simpler if you already use the app and mainly want mobile data. Saily offers a broader set of travel-focused features and clearer information about how those features work.
Which is better for your trip?
Both providers can work well, but they suit slightly different travellers.
Choose Saily if
Saily is the better fit if you want more travel-specific features, clearer hotspot support, stronger security tools or more clearly available unlimited options.
It also makes more sense if you prefer using a dedicated travel eSIM service rather than managing connectivity through a financial app.
Choose Revolut if
Revolut is the better fit if you already use the app and mainly want a simple way to buy mobile data without signing up with another provider.
Its fixed-data pricing can be competitive, and the integrated experience makes it especially convenient for existing Revolut customers.
Revolut eSIM vs Saily: Final verdict
For most travellers, Saily is the stronger all-round option. It offers a more travel-focused feature set, clearer hotspot support, built-in security tools, and more clearly available unlimited options.
Revolut’s main advantage is convenience. If you already use the app and find a plan that suits your trip, it can be a very straightforward and competitively priced option.
The choice ultimately comes down to what you value more: Saily offers the more complete standalone travel eSIM experience, while Revolut is particularly appealing to existing users who want to keep everything in one app.
